- 1. Crompton Greaves Ltd. Mumbai:
It’s a multinational organization basically manufacturing electrical machines and goods.
I worked in its Fan Division manufacturing Ceiling Fan and Table fan for domestic market being the leading brand. I was part of the R&D group taking care of electrical designs. Fans were manufactured under forein collaboration. There was an urgent need to develop them indigenously. I successfully developed new type of electrical single phase motors during my tenure for 3 years. After successful accomplishment I sought a transfer to Large Machine Division (LMD). Alternators (11KVA to 350 KVA), Induction motors (100 HP to 8000 HP) were designed and manufactured In LMD. Alternators were manufactured under foreign collaboration. There was an urgent need to develop them indigenously. Static exciters were imported. I was given the challenging task to develop the excitation system. It involved a magnetic part with electronic feedback system. With a novel concept I completed design, development and product implementation in a record time. A joint patent was granted on may name. The new system was named after me as VTI system. Further I with our team designed and developed entire range indigenously with VTI system within 2 years. Simultaneously I developed Diesel Generator set (D-G set) with Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) electronic controller.
The company decided to manufacture Direct Current machines suitable for the new type of Thyristor speed controller. I was selected for the new assignment and sent to UK for advance designs and manufacturing of DC motors. I single handedly designed, and developed DC machines from 10 hp to 600 HP within 4 years. I was soon promoted to the post of Chief Design Engineer. Simultaneously as and when required I was also assigned the job to develop electronic gadgets for motors. I successfully developed speed controller for DC motors and temperature and oil level controllers for large motors. My career in CGL was full of opportunities and accomplishments under the able guidance of my superiors Mr.R K Taskar, Mr. G K Bhandarkar, Mr. P H Karnik, Mr. D H Pai and my fellow colleagues.

It’s a medium scale industry manufacturing Selenium Rectifier, a semiconductor diode device in a sophisticated plant . For its growth a consultant was needed. I came forward and started offering them free service in the evening. I developed number of allied products for them (pl. see the list).

It’s a small scale industry manufacturing battery charger and was established under my guidance by Mr. B. Bannerjee. For its product development a consultant was needed. It’s a small scale industry manufacturing was established by me with Mr. B. Bannerjee et al. it was established to manufacture wiper motor and DC servo motor. We successfully developed these machine in our plat at Taloja but could not succeed.

It’s a medium scale industry manufacturing cotton ginning and allied machines owned by Mr. Sanjay Jadhao. For its product development a I was requested to be the consultant.
